Unpacking History One Discovery at a Time
Getting all of Louis Todd Sanford’s grandchildren in a single photo was little short of a miracle. This photo taken in August of 1971 was for sure the last time all 12 of us were together and perhaps, the only time.
My Sanford cousins lived far away from each other in California, Oregon, and Minnesota. Today we live even further apart, adding a few additional states to navigate from Alaska to Alabama.
Finding the photo again took almost as much miracle power. It was on a slide my father (Uncle Bud to all the cousins) happened to convert about 30 years ago and then put away in a shoebox. Thank you Uncle Bud!
